Last Thursday was my first day interning at EMB and I got to see a little bit of everything. When everyone arrived at 9, we had a morning meeting to discuss all the things that needed to be addressed that day. Right after that, we packed up Ellen's car then, her, Jessica, and I headed to a client's home to size cabinet hardware. We had a large basket filled with every possible size, style, and finish of caninetry hardware you can imagine. We spent over an hour going to each room that was being renovated and held up several different styles and sizes in every direcion and placement unitl Ellen decided which one looked best. After that, we headed to the lighting store to make selection for 2 other clients and pick up a fan. Then, to the brick store to chose samples for a new construction home. Once back at the office, it was time to start pricing the hardware we had selected earlier that morning. Theres always so much going on. Ellen jumps from one client to the next with no hesitaion, it's hard trying to keep up! You constantly have to stay on your toes and think sharp to keep up with her. Time management is definetly a key skill. And drinking lots of coffee also helps..... Then before you know it, it's 5 o'clock. With so much going on this summer is going to fly by!
