How Rude

So this week, had my first encounter dealing with rude installers. A client of Ellen's lives in a reniterment community. She's a sweet little old lady that wanted some new drapes to spruce up her little apartment, which already was the talk of the community and she was being asked to show it for possible tenets. There were already existing drapes on a traverse rod covered by a cornice. The cornice was mounted low, so Ellen wanted to raise it up and lengthen the curtains to make the room feel grander. Her usual guy for this job is George, who she spoke highly of until I met him. We were running a little late and he wasnt happy he had to wait on us. Then when we finally got all sitauted and ready to move the rods, he realized the walls were metal stud instead of wood. (its a multi- story retierment community, they have fire rated walls) He said "you have got to be kidding me, this is going to take a few hours", then he got up and left. Ellen gave me a concerned look, we didn't want to freak out the client, so we told her he went to home depot to get the right screws. He came back 5 minnutes later and continued to work. we stayed for a little while to help then left to go back to the studio. The next day we got a call from the clients daughter complaining that the drapes didn't close correctly and they looked off center, so we had to go back and fix it. Ellen was not happy at all with George's work, she said he was a very nice guy most of the time and that not like him at all. She called him and told him that was completly unprofessional to do in front of client and he not has to go back and fix the work he did. What a mess! So now we have to find someone to go and fix the misake George made, and it will cost more money. Everyones life is made easier when work is correctly the first time!
